TCT Torch-Cutting Technologies expand the portfolio of Primetals Technologies

Primetals Technologies acquired the torch-cutting technology assets from Spanish company TCT Torch-Cutting Technologies. They signed vital personnel to a long-term service contract to expand its competencies with in-house torch-cutting expertise. TCT was founded in 2009 and offers a broad spectrum of innovative solutions for cutting applications in steel plants, rolling mills, forging shops, foundries, and scrap yards. The move was preceded by the steady relationship between Primetals Technologies and TCT for leading torch-cutting technology solutions.

Integration of Torch-Cutting Technologies

The integration of TCT’s assets into Primetals Technologies results in the full integration of torch-cutting technologies into the continuous casting segment, the broader range of automation solutions for casting, and the scope of metallurgical services. Steel producers needing spare parts and maintenance-related expertise will benefit from the worldwide network of service centers from Primetals Technologies.

Scrap Cutting Technologies

This integration is an additional means of boosting the development of new solutions while maintaining our high-quality standards.”

Harald Trost
General Sales Manager of TCT

Resources for the further development of scrap-cutting technologies can increase as the project execution of TCT is integrated into Primetals Technologies. The transition to green steel production will increase the use of electric arc furnaces and scrap-based production. Therefore, the need for effective and innovative systems for scrap management includes new solutions for scrap-cutting plants.
